Nearly 100 bricks were installed at the “Veterans’ Memory Walk of Honor” on the Saline County Courthouse grounds on Saturday, October 27.
A release from former Saline County Northern District Commissioner Charlie Guthrie says 95 bricks were installed.
The brick committee wishes to thank all who have helped, with a special thank you to members of the Marshall Fire Department and the city of Marshall and to Paul and Kip Bethel for installing the bricks.
The next time bricks will be installed is before Memorial Day.
Professionally-engraved bricks honoring veterans- who do not have to be from Saline County- cost $50 each, and applications are available in the offices of the Recorder Jamie Franklin Nichols, Collector Cindi Sims or Treasurer Marty Smith at the Saline County Courthouse; Ed Reis at Wood & Huston Bank; Dale Zank at his State Farm Insurance office; or from brick committee members- Bob Robinson, Bill Sleeper, Zack Fletcher, Brad Bartlett or Guthrie.
For more information, you can contact Guthrie at (660) 631-9355.
