The No. 9-ranked Missouri Valley College men’s wrestling team will hold its 10th annual “Kans 4 Kids” food drive Wednesday, October 31, in the Marshall community.
According to a release on the college’s website, members of the wrestling team will go “trick-or-treating” for canned goods Halloween night. Canned goods will be collected and distributed to needy families within the Marshall Public School District.
The men’s wrestling team will be divided into small groups and given a section of town to collect donations. At the end of the evening, the team will meet to count the number of items received. This year, the goal is to collect 2,000 items.
Men’s Wrestling Head Coach Mike Machholz says: “This is a chance for our team to give back to the community. The team enjoys getting out into the community and helping those in need in Marshall. We’ve been averaging close to 2,000 items each year, and we are very appreciative of the support.”
