The Sweet Springs R-7 School Board discussed particulars about property insurance during its meeting on Tuesday, December 11.
According to a news release, Superintendent Dr. Lori Price reported that the district’s property insurance through the Missouri United School Insurance Council (M.U.S.I.C.) are due by December 31 each year, and cover a calendar year. She said the premium for 2019 will be $65,037 with an 8-percent discount. Price also reported the district’s property assessment increased from $14,714,934 to $16,075,783 due to needing to increase the cost of contents by a minimum of $20 per square foot.
The board voted to approve continuing to use M.U.S.I.C. as the district’s property-insurance provider.
