Marshall Municipal Utilities has announced Angelique Thurman as its “Employee of the Year” for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2018.
A news release says Thurman was selected by a group of her peers from seven nominations out off a pool of approximately 90 eligible employees.
In nominating Thurman, Administrative Services Director Ken Gieringer highlighted Thurman’s contribution to MMU’s ongoing electric meter replacement project.
“When most employees are asked to work on a special project they are relieved from some of their normal duties. This has not been an option for Angelique as MMU staff addresses the complete replacement of 6,000 electric meters in less than 6 months,” he said. “She has been able to address all of the normal issues that arise in the monthly billing process while handling the necessary steps to process the removal of the old meters and entering the data for the new meters as the distribution crew dedicated to this project does the physical changes out in the system. Her dedication to the performance of her duties for MMU is a great asset.”
Thurman began her employment with MMU in April 2014. She held positions as Customer Service and Internet Representative before being promoted to Utility Billing Associate in October 2014.
