Focused on the future rather than the past, the Saline County Historical Society has a new Director of Development.
Kim Betz Duncan wants to move forward after the current board and the city of Marshall have worked out an out-of-court settlement relating to a lawsuit.
In the short term, Duncan wants to get together some committees.

Duncan says her first order of business, however, is to make a record of all items the society has in its possession.

Duncan said she wants to perhaps work with the Marshall Public Library Board of Trustees and Murrell Library at Missouri Valley College for a common goal of getting a museum to show off Saline County’s history sometime down the road.
Duncan said she will be putting together plans to hold an open-to-the-public meeting within the next couple of weeks to elect officers and make other decisions to move forward.
Duncan says if anybody is interested in joining the Saline County Historical Society, they can call her at (660) 202-9089 or contact her through Facebook pages or messenger.
