At the meeting of the Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, February 12, Mayor Franny Vaught said he had received phone calls from residents inquiring about a possible brush pickup day due to recent winter storms.
According to meeting minutes, aldermen approved brush pickup day to be Monday, March 4, with some stipulations. The guidelines are: limbs must be no longer than four feet and not larger than eight inches in diameter; all small limbs and/or twigs should be bundled together; and everything needs to be placed at the curb or street side.
In other news, the cemetery board’s requests to put out for bid the mowing of the cemetery and mole treatment were approved; Elizabeth Hall was approved as the new city judge at $300 per month; and the board accepted the resignation of police officer Trent Summers.
