A parking-lot project was talked about at the Sweet Springs R-7 School Board meeting on Thursday, February 14.
According to meeting minutes, Superintendent Lori Price reported one of the capital-improvement projects mentioned by the school board last summer was the need to expand the parking lot on the east side of the school.
Improvements also could be considered for the student parking area, which will include a drain. The project has been divided into four phases.
By a vote of the school board, Howe Company, LLC, has been hired for the survey and design for $19,000- the first step in the process.
In other news, the board approved its next meeting to begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 14.
