The Northwestern R-1 School District in Mendon has announced it will be going to a four day week schedule beginning with the 2019-2020 School Year.
According to a news release from Superintendent Eric Hoyt, the school board and administration approved the change for classes to be in session four days per week in an effort that values instructional time, is fiscally responsible and is attractive to prospective teachers, as well as current teachers on staff.
Hoyt said school will be in session each week, Tuesday through Friday, and will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:37 p.m. each day.
The first day of classes in the district is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21.
