Marshall Police Chief Mike Donnell asked the city council to approve the purchase of some less-than-lethal equipment for his department during its meeting on Monday, April 15.
Donnell explained the idea is for his department to expand options it has other than lethal weapons.
Donnell said his department looked at getting less-than-lethal weapons a few years ago, and they were over $36,000; and “what I’m looking for it is not to exceed $14,000 in equipment and training.”
City Administrator David Haugland said Donnell is right about the purchase being beneficial to the department and the public.
The council approved the purchase.
