A felony charge has been filed against a Nashville resident who allegedly refused to pull over for a traffic stop for speeding while continuing to drive 80 to 90 miles per hour on eastbound I-70 for more than 20 miles on Tuesday, April 16.
A probable-cause statement says the pursuit by a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper- with his emergency lights activated- began at mile marker 93 in Cooper County and ended after the suspect’s vehicle struck stop sticks near mile marker 118 in Boone County. The suspect reportedly cruised in the left lane, but was not passing any other vehicles during the entire pursuit, according to authorities.
Online court documents say 19-year-old Moises Bonilla-Mendez has been charged with a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop by Fleeing and four total misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash or surety.
Bonilla-Mendez’s initial hearing is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
