The Marshall Police Department has received reports of fake money trying to be used at a couple of businesses in the past week.
According to reports from the department, a person reportedly attempted to use a counterfeit $20 bill at Collins Pop Shop at 470 North Miami Avenue on Wednesday, April 17. The person who was trying to use the bill said he received it as change from another local business and did not know the bill was fake.
The second report of a counterfeit $20 bill came on Thursday, April 18. The bill is believed to have been received sometime between 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, and 3 p.m. Thursday, April 18, by Casey’s General Store at 121 East Eastwood Street. It was discovered during the bank deposit by the business.
The investigations continue.
