Marshall Municipal Utilities recently announced that two workers have been named “Employees of the Quarter” for their work over the first three months of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019.
According to a news release, Mike O’Bryan (right) and Matt Pennock (left) were named “Employees of the Quarter” for their work as System Operators in the Underground Facilities Department.
O’Bryan joined MMU as a Meter Reader in January 1993 and became a System Operator in August 2012. Pennock started as Maintenance Worker in March 2006 and became a System Operator in July 2016.
In nominating O’Bryan and Pennock, Underground Facilities Director Grant Piper highlighted multiple tasks that they perform.
Piper said “They spend many hours on our cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) program, putting together a very detailed and organized portfolio of upcoming mains to be rehabilitated.” Piper continued, “They also work with outside contractors and plumbers throughout the city, mapping new services and making sure all MMU facilities are well maintained.”
In addition, Piper stated that O’Bryan and Pennock take care of all of Underground Facilities’ locates. In conclusion, Piper said, “They work well as a team and are very professional when dealing with the public. Mike and Matt are valuable assets to MMU and represent the company well at all times.”
