A Sedalia man faces a felony charge for the alleged abuse of an elderly man earlier this year in Pettis County.
A probable-cause statement says Sedalia Police officers responded to a report of an assault at a motel in the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue on February 11.
Officers made contact with the victim and his care taker, 46-year-old Christopher Crouch. The victim said Crouch was supposed to be taking care of him, but reportedly failed to do so. The victim added Crouch reportedly would not change him if he had a bathroom accident or Crouch would be gone for several hours which led to confrontations. During the confrontation at the motel, Crouch reportedly pulled the victim out of a bed and onto the floor while threatening to kill him. Officers noticed the victim had sustained abrasions on both sides of his ribs, as well as scrapes and abrasions on his left arm.
Online court documents say Crouch has been charged with a Class E Felony for Domestic Assault in the Third Degree and a misdemeanor for abuse of the elderly. Bond has not yet been set.
An initial hearing for Crouch is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
