With the Missouri River now receding from record flood levels in some areas, several area communities are in cleanup mode.
Brunswick Police Chief Kenny Clark says U.S. Highway 24 through Brunswick is now open to traffic.

Clark said it’s just too hard to tell how long it will take to get everything back to the way it was for those who have been affected by the floodwaters. Per FEMA guidelines, they have to go in to inspect any house that received any damage. After that is done, he says the cleanup process can begin for that property.

Clark said free tetanus shots still are being made available for anybody who needs one. He said in order to work in the flooded area and be exposed to any of the cleanup, anybody has to be up-to-date on tetanus vaccinations. He said they are still free through Thursday at a clinic that is set up next to city hall.
Clark said there is a great group of volunteers at city hall- who have been “providing meals for any of the displaced families or people who are volunteering to work. They have been providing three meals a day since this started.”
If anybody has any questions- including anything about the process of getting back into their home- Clark said they can call city hall at (660) 548-3048.
