Marshall Ward 3 Councilman Charlie Guthrey asked the council to approve a measure regarding a project at the Marshall Municipal Airport during its meeting on Monday, June 17.
Guthrey said he brought information about hiring the engineering company HDR for the airport’s development plan before the council a couple of weeks ago.

City Administrator David Haugland further explained the possibility of losing some funds.

Haugland said this is a requirement of MoDOT. “You have to base your opinion on their qualifications. We do believe they will provide good value for what we need. The key is, we have to get this money encumbered. There’s a funding process they’re going to have to get filled out. And they have to get it to MoDOT before that deadline. The funds will pay for over half of the master plan.”
The council approved the motion.
