The Concordia Board of Aldermen gave its approval to several items discussed during its meeting on Monday, August 19.
According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, the board approved a proposed ordinance to levy taxes on real and personal property for the year 2019; and authorizing the certification of the rate with the Lafayette County Clerk.
The board also voted to approve an ordinance for the final plat of Knight Acres, a subdivision within Concordia; and fixing the time when the ordinance will become effective.
In other news, the board approved an ordinance to authorize McLiney and Company to act as the city’s independent registered municipal advisor to advertise for the private-placement/direct-purchase bids from financial institutions to provide finance for the city’s street through a tax-exempt personal-property lease-purchase agreement in the principal amount of $250,000. City Administrator Dale Klussman said the bids are due to be opened on September 16.
