During its meeting on Tuesday, August 20, the Slater City Council approved the tax levy.
City Administrator Gene Griffith says the rate is up a bit from last year, but the amount of tax money the city will collect remains about the same.

That rate is per $100 of assessed valuation on real and personal property and has to be approved by the Secretary of State’s Office.
In other news, Griffith said the council approved a bid for work on some water lines near the water tower.

In another action, Griffith said the council approved a bill to authorize the county to collect special tax bills.
