A Springfield man suffered serious injuries in a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV in Cooper County on Wednesday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 51-year-old Glen Hickey reportedly lost control of his northbound Harley Davidson while slowing down, and his bike struck a northbound Honda Pilot, driven by 65-year-old Bruce Fagerstrom, of Urbandale, Iowa, which was stopped for a pedestrian near the roadway. Hickey was ejected off his motorcycle.
While Fagerstrom reportedly was not injured, Hickey was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on Missouri Highway 5, a quarter of a mile north of Mile Corner Road.
