A Malta Bend man has been charged with a drug-related felony and a couple of misdemeanors relating to a reported assault on September 2.
According to a probable-cause statement, while en route, the deputy was notified a woman was able to get away from Kenneth Albert Endicott, but he was attempting to catch her while being armed with a crowbar. Upon his arrival, the deputy located the woman, who said Endicott came to her residence unannounced and asked for her help with a stray cat. She said he drove her to his residence in Mount Leonard (the Malta Bend area) and pressured her to shoot methamphetamine with him. She said he loaded a syringe and shot it into her left arm. Then she said he tried to take advantage of her sexually. She was able to escape to a neighbor’s house and called authorities.
Authorities visited Endicott’s residence and reportedly found six syringes and a crowbar. When he has was being detained, authorities say he resisted arrest until he was told he was going to be tasered. The victim was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, and she reportedly tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.
According to online court documents, Endicott has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance and misdemeanors for resisting arrest and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash only.
Endicott was arraigned on September 4; and his counsel-status hearing was held on September 5. His cause has been continued for a hearing to set the time and date for his preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, at Saline County Circuit Court.
