A Columbia man has been charged with a felony for allegedly assaulting a woman in Howard County on August 22.
A probable-cause statement says a woman reported to authorities that another person sitting in a vehicle asked her to give him an item that belonged to Colton “Cody” Adams. She said she told the other person she would only give the item to Adams. Then she said Adams got out of the back seat of the vehicle, ran toward her, put her in a headlock and punched her in the head three times with a closed fist. She said her head was hurting, and there was a bump that was painful to the touch. She also said she was in fear for her life and tossed the item on the ground, and that’s when Adams let go of her.
Online court documents say Adams has been charged with a Class E Felony for Assault in the Third Degree. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash only.
Adams was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, September 10, at Howard County Circuit Court. An update is not available at this time.
