Randall C. Fiene CPA conducted the fiscal-year 2019 audit for the Sweet Springs R-7 School District.
According to unofficial minutes from the school board meeting on Tuesday, October 15, it was reported the audit was very successful – with only the usual finding regarding segregation of duties. That is not an uncommon finding in a district Sweet Springs’ size.
In other news, Jon Dwiggins, of Howe Construction Company, presented the board with an update on the parking-lot construction project. He said the job is basically complete, except for the striping, crack sealing and a small amount of seeding and mulching. It is recommended the parking area remain closed to allow more time for the concrete to cure completely, and to allow for the moisture level to go down enough for the crack sealing and paint to adhere properly. Striping and crack sealing are scheduled to occur on November 1.
