During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, October 24, Clerk Debbie Russell said some people are visiting her office about cybersecurity.

Russell said there was an interview held with in-depth questions being asked so they could see if there might any vulnerabilities for some of that activity to take place. She said “the purpose is to build up a plan of action anywhere you might be weak; and encourage us where we have our strengths.”
Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner asked: “Do they do this annually?”

Russell said the county’s Midwest Computech representative was to be there for about four hours on Thursday to work with them to scan the county’s systems, making sure the county is up to par, according to the necessary standards.
