A Warrensburg woman sustained serious injuries in a traffic crash in Johnson County Friday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred when 52-year-old Fufen Zhang fell asleep at the wheel causing her eastbound vehicle to travel off the right side off the roadway. She then returned to the highway where the then traveled off the left side of the highway and struck a tree before coming to rest in the median.
Zhang was transported by Johnson County Ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment.
The crash happened at 4:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 50, west of County Road 250.
