The Mount Muncie Cemetery is located east on Shelby Road in Higginsville, MO and sits adjacent to the Brand Cemetery. Mount Muncy Cemetery was formed in 1900 to provide burials for African Americans who were not allowed to be buried in the city cemetery.
This is a luncheon for the Friends of the Mount Muncie and all other interested persons. Everyone is welcome. This is not a fund raiser, but a time to break bread together and hear about the plans for Mount Muncie Cemetery. You are invited to bring a saIad or a dessert.
In addition to the luncheon, a speaker will discuss about Ground Penetrating Radar, also known as GPR, is non-intrusive sub-surface imaging. It provides a very detailed picture profile of what lays below the surface. This technology helps to find unmarked graves.
We will have a session on what is important to you, how we can keep in touch, how you want to be involved to give support, and find out the names of family members and friends who are buried at Mount Muncie Cemetery. There will be some displays and updates regarding other friends who have significant projects. We will also visit the graveyard.
Please RSVP to Linda, (816) 456-6654
