The Rev. Dr. Nick Petrov, Professor and Chaplain at Missouri Valley College, will be the featured speaker. The evening meditation is titled “We Want To See Jesus,” with Scripture text from the Gospel of John 12: 20-28. The singing of Holy Week based hymns will be offered during the service as to capture the feeling and events and the mood of the week Jesus prior to Resurrection Easter Sunday.
A special musical presentation of “Jesus Died Alone” will include combined choir of members from various church choirs of the Marshall community, singing together under the direction of Rev. Wayne Doolin (Choir members will assemble at 6:30PM at the church to practice). Various pastors from community churches will also serve as worship leaders during this service.
The First Baptist Church “Jubilee Ringers” will make presentations of the bells with songs of “Just As I Am” and “There Is A Redeemer.”
This annual Holy Week Service is designed to help the faithful prepare and recall the passion events of Jesus Christ leading towards the celebration of his victory on Easter Sunday. The offering for the evening has been designated for the Ministerial Alliance’s Local Benevolent Fund that assists persons in the Marshall area who need help in 2022.
