
Concerts are back at Thespian Hall!
The Thespian Hall Conservatory Band returns to Historic Thespian Hall on Saturday, July 3, at 7:30 pm to celebrate America’s birthday and Missouri’s Bicentennial Year.
This is the first concert at Thespian Hall in 14 months due to Covid, and the band will open the 1857 theater in grand musical style.
Among the musical selections will be “American River Songs,” featuring “Shenandoah,” “The Glendy Burk,” and “Down the River” and “Satchmo,” a tribute to Jazz legend Louis Armstrong.
Celebrating the old and the new music of the Missouri Bicentennial will be“The Maple Leaf Rag,” and “The Entertainer,” Ragtime classics by Missouri composer Scott Joplin, and “Wanderlust for Band,” by Boonville’s own Kristen Hirlinger.
Ms. Hirlinger is a 2009 graduate of Boonville High School and currently employed as Sound Editor for network television and Netflix productions in Los Angeles, California. Among her screen credits are “The Romanoffs,” “The Haunting of Bly House,” and “Interrogation.” She returns to Boonville to see and hear the World Premier of “Wanderlust” by the Thespian Hall Conservatory Band.
The concert will also include “Armed Forces Salute,” and a classic 4th of July feature: “The Red, White, and Blue Spectacular!”
The Thespian Hall Band is comprised of professional musicians from Boonville, Fayette, Columbia, Moberly, Warrensburg, and Fulton who donate their services to support Thespian Hall and the Friends of Historic Boonville.
