Six area Future Farmers of America Chapters have been recognized as being some of the best in the state.
According to news releases, the Boonville Chapter placed fourth out of 343 chapters in the state at the state convention being held in Columbia. In addition, the chapter was voted the “Model of Excellence” winner in the area of Growing Leaders.
Slater’s FFA Chapter placed eighth; Marshall 17th; Sweet Springs 19th; New Franklin 24th; and Carrollton 35th.
Only 10 percent of the state chapters receive a top chapter designation each year.
The top chapters in the state will compete for the National FFA Chapter Award, and winners will be announced this fall at the 91st National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis.
