Two residents of the state of Illinois have been arrested and charged with a drug-related felony in Saline County after a traffic stop on December 28.
According to a probable-cause statement, a traffic stop occurred near the 67 mile marker on I-70. The two subjects reportedly smelled of marijuana. During a search of the vehicle, authorities uncovered a large blue suitcase, and in the walls of the suitcase, they allegedly found five large bags of vacuum-sealed marijuana, with an unofficial weight of approximately five pounds. Authorities also reportedly seized several receipts and a cell phone.
Arrested were 23-year-old Solomon Hill, of Alton, and 22-year-old Hasaun Seanteez Hobbs, of Godfrey.
Online court documents say each has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana. Bond for each has been set at $10,000 cash or surety. Each defendant reportedly was arraigned on December 29.
Each defendant is due for another hearing at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, at Saline County Circuit Court in Marshall.
