A public hearing regarding a plan for an industrial development project for a steel mill facility was held at the beginning of the Sedalia City Council meeting on Monday, March 5.
Executive Director of Economic Development for Sedalia-Pettis County Jessica Craig began the public hearing by stating the reasons why Nucor Steel is a good fit for the community.

Craig goes on to detail the economic impact of the company.

The floor was then open for public comment which no person came forward to express their opinion, and the city council later approved the plan and certain documents relating to the Industrial Development Project for the Nucor-Still Mill Facility.
