The Slater City Council discussed nuisance violation letters being sent out to residents during its meeting on Tuesday, April 17.
City Administrator Gene Griffith said residents who are in violation of city nuisance ordinances should be receiving letters soon and will have a 10-day grace period to take care of the problems listed in the letters.
City Attorney Adam Sommer said fines and court appearances will be issued after the grace period ends.

Griffith added the goal of the letters is to encourage residents to fix the violations in a timely manner before tickets can be issued.
In other business, Griffith said the citywide garage sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 5.
