A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Richmond man charged with multiple felonies for an alleged domestic assault incident last month in Ray County.
According to a probable-cause statement, just before 1 a.m. on May 24, Richmond Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle theft at a residence in the 400 block of Church Street. The victim told officers that 35-year-old Rickey Brown Jr. allegedly had placed both hands around her neck and began to choke her. Brown also had bit one of the victim’s fingers during the altercation where he allegedly was intoxicated. The victim was noticed to have bruising around her neck and bite marks on her finger.
Before the arrival of the officers, Brown reportedly left the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
Online court documents say Brown has been charged two counts of a Class D Felony for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree and one count of a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash only.
Brown’s initial hearing at the Ray County Circuit Court is pending.
