A Marshall woman accused of arson last month has a court date scheduled for this week.
Online court documents say Tammy Jo Leonhardt has been charged with Class D Felonies for Second-Degree Arson and Burglary and misdemeanors for stealing and property damage. A probable-cause statement says Leonhardt was seen on surveillance video using a hammer to access a cash register to steal $92 and left the Lighthouse Shelter Thrift Store in Marshall on May 23. Leonhart reportedly admitted to stealing the money and returning to the business to destroy the cameras. However, she said she couldn’t disable them, so she started a fire inside a closet.
On June 13, Leonhardt waived her preliminary hearing, and her case was bound over to Division 4. Her bond is set at $7,500 cash only, with several conditions. Her request for bond reduction was denied by the court.
Leonhardt is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 25, at Saline County Circuit Court.
