The Sweet Spring R-7 School Board discussed several important matters and welcomed the district’s new superintendent during its meeting on Monday, July 9.
According to the minutes from the meeting, Superintendent Lori Price thanked the board, district staff and community for making her feel welcomed since she took over the job on July 1. Price also thanked the summer maintenance staff for its continued efforts on getting the districts’ facilities ready for the upcoming school year.
In other business, Price asked for guidance from the board on which capitol improvement projects should take precedence for the upcoming school year. The board approved to move forward with the following projects: a new practice field for football; a new elementary playground area with equipment; and a driveway expansion with a retaining wall on the east side of the school.
The board tabled a decision regarding the 2019 Senior Class Trip until the next board meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 23.
