A Richmond teen was injured in a traffic accident in Lafayette County on Thursday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as a southbound vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Christian Van Oster, reportedly experienced a tire malfunction. The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment and a fence before coming to a rest.
Van Oster was transported by private vehicle to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence for treatment of minor injures.
The accident happened at about 4:45 p.m. on Highway O at Wheatly Road.
