A Las Vegas man has been charged with a felony in Saline County for being the driver of a vehicle that allegedly was stolen out of Kansas City.
According to a probable-cause statement, on August 16, the license plates on the vehicle that was parked at Casey’s General Store came back as not on file, but a check of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) reportedly confirmed the vehicle to be stolen. During a consented search of the vehicle, authorities say they also found some drug-related items.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and Robert Steven Baker has been charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash or surety.
Baker’s initial hearing at Saline County Circuit Court is pending.
