A 37-year-old Sedalia man is facing multiple felony charges after he allegedly assaulted, choked and held a woman against her will on October 15.
A probable-cause statement says the woman alleged to authorities that David E. Taylor had struck her in the face; choked her repeatedly; prevented her from leaving the residence via the front door or windows; and prevented her from calling 9-1-1 by taking her cell phone. The officer noted the woman suffered noticeable injuries to her head, face, neck, right wrist and hand- including a broken eye socket and possible broken nose.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and Taylor has been charged with Class A Felonies for Domestic Assault in the First Degree- Serious Physical Injury and Kidnapping in the First Degree; and Classes D and E Felonies for Tampering with a Witness and Physical Evidence in a Felony Prosecution. Bond has been set at $150,000 cash or surety.
Taylor’s initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court is pending.
