On December 5, 6 and 7, 2018, the Sedalia Police Department conducted a special operation that included saturation patrols in areas with high incident rates for drug activity.
A post on the agency’s Facebook page says the special operation group consists of patrol officers and detectives from the department. When activated, this unit analyzes crime trends in the community and targets the areas of highest concern.
During this activation, officers made 53 traffic stops and 14 arrests. Eight arrests were for drugs, and officers reportedly seized heroin, ecstasy, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The stops also resulted in the clearance of eight outstanding arrest warrants.
Several individuals were arrested and are facing various drug-related charges. According to online court documents drug-related or other charges have been filed against 30-year-old Holly Jett; 21-year-old Jacob Copeland; 26-year-old Tyler Slayden; 34-year-old Jessica Jenkins; 31-year-old Nickolis Harves; 31-year-old Travis Eldred; and 37-year-old Scott Pritchett. Persons picked up on outstanding warrants included 42-year-old Misty Logan; 24-year-old Schyler Ray; and 31-year-old Shaevon Collins.
Formal charges are still pending against other subjects.
