A Sedalia man who has been charged with multiple counts of a sex-related felony involving a juvenile, waived his preliminary hearing on October 18, and had his cause bound over to circuit court is due in court next week.
According to a probable-cause statement, on July 7, 2018, a juvenile alleged that Eric W. Fields sexually abused him when he was between the ages of 7 and 9 (2012 to 2014).
According to online court documents, Fields has been charged with five counts of an Unclassified Felony for Attempted Statutory Sodomy in the First Degree- Deviate Sex with a Person Less Than 14 Years Old; and a sex-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $250,000 cash or surety. The court denied a request for bond reduction on August 9.
Fields, who is now 46, entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment hearing on November 19. His next hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 17, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
