The proposed water project at the Marshall Junction got a boost late last week.
During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Tuesday, January 15, Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. said an agreement was signed on Friday, January 11.

Guthrey said another step is for Joey McLiney to secure the bonds to pay for the project to get water piped to the south side of I-70 at the junction of U.S. Highway 65.
Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden said it took people working together to get the deal worked out.

Saline County voters passed a half-cent sales-tax measure last April for economic development throughout the county, with about a third of the projected proceeds during its 20-year life span going toward the water project.
