With the help of a deputy’s body-cam video and posts made online, a Marshall woman faces a felony charge for allegedly being involved in a stealing incident last year in Saline County.
According to a probable-cause statement, a victim reported to Saline County deputies that their home in rural Marshall was broken into and numerous items were taken on October 5, 2018.
During the investigation on February 14, 2019, the victim reported that some of the stolen items were posted for sale on Facebook Marketplace by 37-year-old Misty Perkins. On Wednesday, February 20, deputies and the victim reviewed a body-cam video of a search of Perkins’ vehicle in November 2018, which reportedly showed her vehicle containing several of the stolen items. A warranted search of Perkins’ vehicle and home reportedly began and discovered her to be in possession of several of the stolen items totaling almost $2,000. The 2018 search and video of Perkins’ vehicle was completed in reference to another criminal investigation.
Online court documents say Perkins has been charged with a Class D Felony for Stealing $750 or More with bond set at $10,000 cash only.
Her initial hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
