At the meeting of the Marshall School Board on November 19, 2018, board members Dr. Erin Meyer and Ed Harper presented a proposal for creating a Safety and Security Task Force.
According to minutes from the meeting on Wednesday, February 27, the board approved a motion to create the Task Force. The mission of the Task Force reportedly will be to assess the district’s current safety and security policies, procedures and protocols for the purpose of ensuring and promoting Marshall Public Schools’ overall safety and security.
The minutes say Dr. Meyer has received commitments from the Saline County Sheriff and the Marshall Fire Chief/Saline County Emergency Management Agency Director.
The Missouri School Board Association’s Center for Education Safety also has several resources that can be used.
