Saline County Emergency Management Agency Director Tony Day said he has been working with the Re-Assessment office to try to pinpoint houses that may be flooded.
During the meeting of the county commission on Tuesday, June 11, Day said- at this point- there are five such houses- all in the Glasgow River Bottoms. He said he and his assistant Sharon Sheffer tried to go out this past Friday and look at them, but they couldn’t get anywhere near them.
Day also said the two main levees- Teetsau and Saline/Lafayette- have held up pretty well.
Day noted about 50 miles of county roads have been affected by flooding. He said they are going to have to wait and assess any damage after the water level drops. He said a SEMA team will come in and look at them and get a better idea what it will cost to fix any damage.
