A guided nature hike is scheduled to be held at a Missouri State Park in Saline County later this month.
A news release says you are invited to visit Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park for a wildflower walk at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. Participants will meet at the large shelter house for a guided nature hike along the Earthworks trail to view a variety of plants and wildflowers. This interpreter-led mile-long hike over a natural surface will last approximately an hour. The Earthworks trail is a moderately difficult hike with steep hills and narrow walkways.
It is highly recommended that attendees bring and use bug spray and sunscreen and wear sturdy footwear.
This free event is weather permitting and open to all.
For more information about the event, call the park at (660) 886-7537.
