A Sedalia man is facing felony charges following an incident in May of 2019.
According to a probable cause statement from Sedalia Police Department, at 10:45 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 300 block of west 13th Street on May 16 in reference to shots reportedly being fired from a vehicle.
When officers arrived several residents reported to police that the driver of a black Dodge minivan fired several shots out of the driver side window and then reportedly sped away. Officers searched for the suspect but did not locate the person of interest at the time.
The following day officers were dispatched back to the area where they found 36-year-old Anthony Johnson arguing with one of the witnesses. Johnson was reportedly admitted to driving the vehicle but denied being the shooter. Johnson was taken into custody where his clothing and hands were tested for gunshot residue.
A warrant has been issued and Anthony Johnson is facing a Class B Felony for unlawful use of a weapon, shooting at or from a moving vehicle at a person, moving vehicle or building. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Johnson’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
