A Warrensburg man suffered moderate injuries in a fiery traffic crash involving three large trucks in Johnson County on Friday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 22-year-old Clayton Hamlin, of Centerview, entered a crossover in his eastbound Peterbilt and reportedly failed to yield to a westbound freightliner, driven by 58-year-old Bruce Smith, and a westbound Kenworth, driven by 49-year-old Robert Smith, of Raytown. Hamlin’s vehicle overturned and struck the Kenworth. Hamlin’s vehicle caught fire and was destroyed.
While Hamlin and Robert Smith reportedly were not injured, Bruce Smith reportedly was transported by Johnson County E.M.S. to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment.
The crash happened at 10 a.m. on U.S. Highway 50 at Northwest 251st Road.
