The Saline County Coroner’s Office has released information regarding the body recovered earlier this week from Blind Pony Lake. The subject has been positively identified as Thomas Lee Bedsworth Jr., age 53, a resident of Jackson County, Mo. Preliminary autopsy results show no signs of injury or trauma and the preliminary cause of death is drowning. Bedsworth was last seen on Friday, August 9, and had been reported as a missing person.

Authorities in Saline County have recovered the body of person to have been missing out of the Kansas City area.
According to a news release from Saline County Sheriff’s office, they were contacted by a local Conservation Agent in reference to area staff locating personal belongings on the bank of Blind Pony Lake. The Agent advised authorities that identification found with the belongings reportedly belonged to a person who was reported missing out of Kansas City Mo. During a subsequent search of the area the body of the subject was located in the water in a cove north of where the belongings were found. The body was recovered at 1 p.m., August 13, 2019. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the family of the subject have reportedly been notified. At this time there is no indication of foul play and no other information has been made available.
