Bond has been set at $250,000 cash only for a Sedalia man who is facing multiple sex-related felony charges for allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with a child.
According to a probable-cause statement, an 8-year-old girl described to authorities several encounters with 45-year-old Charles Putfark over a two-year period. When interviewed, Putfark, who reportedly was a baby sitter for the girl off and on from July 2017 to July 2019, denied the allegations.
According to online court documents, Putfark has been charged with three counts of a Class A Felony for Child Molestation in the First Degree; a Class E Felony for Sexual Misconduct Involving a Child Under 15; and two counts of an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Statutory Sodomy- Deviate Sexual Intercourse- with a Person Less Than 12 Years Old.
Putfark was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, August 29, at Pettis County Circuit Court. No other information is available at this time.
