Harry W. Alpers, 80, and Lila J. Bredehoeft Alpers, 76, of Concordia, died less than 12 hours apart; Harry on September 19, 2019 and Lila on September 20, 2019, going on nearly 60 years of marriage.  It seems almost like a fairytale ending for two people who loved each other so much and not wanting to be separated from the other.

Funeral services for the Alpers’ will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia.

They are survived by two daughters, Debbie Aponte (Edwin) and Lisa Galloway, both of Concordia; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; Harry’s sister: Barbara Johnson (Richard); Lila’s siblings: Ruth Deatherage, Omar Bredehoeft (Grace), Wilmer Bredehoeft, and Betty Lou Hurd (Richard); as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Harry and Lila were preceded in death by their parents; Harry C. Alpers and Bertha Goetz Alpers and Ralph M. Bredehoeft and Laura Bokelman Bredehoeft; daughter, Susan Diane Hinck; grandson, Daniel Erik Bales; Harry’s siblings: Becky Cothern, Donald Alpers, and Judy Reynolds; and Lila’s brothers: Robert, Harold, and Albert Bredehoeft.
