A Springfield, Ohio, man charged with a felony after accepting a package which reportedly contained a good amount of a controlled substance is due for a court proceeding this week.
Victor Emmanuel Casey III has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance after reportedly attempting to pick up a package at the Marshall Police Department on March 14.
A probable-cause statement says Marshall Police officers received a call from a Department of Homeland Security special investigator on March 4, and the investigator said a package was intercepted by U.S. Border and Customs. The package contained two picture frames, which reportedly contained several ounces of cocaine. The package was addressed to 25-year-old Casey.
Casey reportedly said he was paid $400 for picking up the package for a former schoolmate. Casey posted $15,000 surety bond on March 18.
Casey is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, at Saline County Circuit Court.
