The HGTV network is searching for a small community to receive a makeover from Home Town stars Ben and Erin Napier, and it has drawn the interest of an area city’s mayor.
According to the network, it has announced an upcoming spinoff of its hit series “Home Town,” in which its hosts will spearhead the renovation of an entire municipality, from single-family homes to public parks and more.
Mayor Julie Schwetz says the town of Marshall is a good fit for the project. Thus, she has planned a meeting to begin putting a proposal together.

Schwetz says she wants to see what citizens consider some of the best things to highlight in Marshall. She says “we have several places that should be the focus….

Again, that meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 tonight at Community Bank- across from McDonald’s.
Viewers interested in nominating their own hometowns for an overhaul need only be aware of one major criteria: The towns up for consideration must have a population of 40,000 or less. Submissions require a video tour of the village itself, with a focus on the buildings and areas that might need the most sprucing up, as well as stories from locals and photos that point to what’s special about that particular area. The series will span six episodes.
Marshall has until February 4 to submit its entry for consideration.
